Founded in 2014 as a venue for live nurse storytelling, The Bedside Confessionals™ is now an interdisciplinary storytelling series, workshop, and writing model by - and for - people who take care of other people. Readings and workshops draw from reflective writing principles and mentor-based editing tactics, and feature expert writers and novices side-by-side, with intention to promote the under-represented voices of the modern day bedside. We welcome all, but believe that the success of health care today depends on a policy arena that seeks out diverse caregiver voices, not just the ones that are currently showcased in the mainstream media. You'll be surprised by how much writing helps you as a caregiver, how stories of care go beyond the stereotypical or mundane, how far the “bedside” reaches, and how even the simplest actions of care, when reflected upon, lead to dynamic moments in the lives of patients and caregivers alike.
